Helping to Stop Hunger

0

For the past three years, Riverside Church has led churches in SW DC in the CROP walk, raising money to stop hunger.  The next walk will take place in May. We need persons who are willing to walk, support and organize.  If you are interested, please let Pastor Bledsoe know.  CROP is not our church’s only response to hunger in our community and world. Every third Sunday of the month, we collect non-perishables that the Deacon Board then takes to Martha’s Table.  As well, Pastor Bledsoe has been urging folks to read Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl Wudunn’s book, Half the Sky, which describes and offers solutions for eradicating poverty and hunger by aiming development dollars at girls and women.  Let’s link hands and work together for justice!
