Rev. Countess Cooper Named Chaplain for US Air Force
On March 7, 2010, Chaplain, Colonel Robert Marciano recognized Reverend Countess Cooper for her dedication to this country in being named one of the newest members of the Chaplain Corps of the US Air Force. Rev. Cooper has served as featured devotional leader and at Riverside for the past 3 years. Not only is she a gifted vocalist, she is also a skilled musician and ordained minister of the Gospel. In 1997, Rev. Cooper, at the bequest of Pastor Bledsoe, became the first seminary intern from Howard University School of Divinity and she has served ever since in various capacities.
In her new role, Chaplain, Captain Cooper will serve the US Air Force as a military chaplain to the 113th Wing, the DC Air National Guard.
