Sermons

Below are podcasts of sermons proclaimed in the sanctuary of Riverside Baptist Church. It can be useful to study themes and ideas and ponder the proclamation. If these sermons are used by you in your own sermons or speeches, I ask only that you make every effort to cite the source accurately. Most importantly, as you journey in faith, I invite you to dialogue with me about the texts you are about to read.
In light of the recent Glenn Beck rally in Washington DC and his continued attacks upon the personal faith of the President of the United States, you might find helpful a sermon proclaimed in April by Pastor Bledsoe. Entitled, “Dear Mr. Beck or The Gospel is Social Justice,” you will simply need to scroll to the next page to find it.
Memorial Service for Deacon Lithincum ()
Dr. Michael Bledsoe, May 16, 2010Part of the Sermons series, preached at a Special event service
Lillian Esther Linthicum, Deacon and friend, long time member of over thirty years and the first African-American member of our church, has crossed the threshold from mortality into life everlasting in God on Wednesday morning, May 12. Lillian, called Esther by her cousins, has been a fixture in our congregation. She has been a witty ray of sunshine, a delightful conversationalist about current events, and a faithful servant of Christ. We will miss her deeply. We are grateful for the gift of her life and with sadness but mostly joy, we commend her to the care of the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ, whose voice she knows. May light perpetual shine upon you and eternal rest attend you as you rest from your labors.
