Sermons

Below are podcasts of sermons proclaimed in the sanctuary of Riverside Baptist Church. It can be useful to study themes and ideas and ponder the proclamation. If these sermons are used by you in your own sermons or speeches, I ask only that you make every effort to cite the source accurately. Most importantly, as you journey in faith, I invite you to dialogue with me about the texts you are about to read.

In light of the recent Glenn Beck rally in Washington DC and his continued attacks upon the personal faith of the President of the United States, you might find helpful a sermon proclaimed in April by Pastor Bledsoe.  Entitled, “Dear Mr. Beck or The Gospel is Social Justice,” you will simply need to scroll to the next page to find it.

The Cleft of the Rock ()

Dr. Michael Bledsoe, July 25, 2010
Part of the Sermons series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Sometimes we need to look to something or someone that is greater than who we are. We look for "the One who is higher than I." Dr. Bledsoe takes us to the passage of scripture where God speaks to Moses as a friend and shares intimate knowledge of him. In order to share, God places Moses in the cleft of the rock. May the Lord meet with you as you are within the cleft of the rock.
