The first summer of July is around the corner.  This is a fluid time for church since many members will be on the road, taking vacations and a much needed respite from ordinary time and routines.  But the church is still here and we are still at worship so….

*When you are in town and can worship, please do so.  Your presence in the congregation is not only a blessing to yourself, but a blessing to others.

*Whether you are in the sanctuary on Sunday or not, make an effort to contribute to the financial support of your church.

Allow me to speak to that last idea for just a moment because we are soon going to have another and more efficient way for you to give.  Usually we make our offerings on Sunday morning in worship when the offering plate is passed and the bulk of our offerings are in the form of checks.

Soon we will have a featured tab on our web site where you can make your contribution securely online with a credit or debit card.  This will allow you to consistently support the church and provide you your own personal and precise record of what you have contributed.

The reality is, our traditional way of giving has meant for us that financial gifts dip in the summer time as people are away.  When people are in church, they give an offering. But if our attendance is low due to the summer time and vacations, we find that giving is hurt. This should be remedied soon and we pray you will make an effort to give online even when you are unable to attend on Sunday.

The other truth is, there are friends of Riverside across the nation and the world who would like to support an interracial, inclusive and Christ-centered church.  This will also provide a means for them to do so. Stay alert, we hope to have this feature up and running in a brief time.
