To culminate our 28 days of visioning, we are thrilled to welcome visionary pastor and author, Reverend Michael A. Walrond, Jr. to Riverside DC! We invite you to write down one of your visions for the year and bring it to church with you. We'll be praying over them and posting them on our communal vision board.

Affectionately known as Pastor Mike," he serves as the Senior Pastor of First Corinthian Baptist Church (FCBCNYC) in Harlem, New York and planting pastor of FCBCLA. Pastor Mike is one of the most prolific and sought-after teachers and preachers in the country. Considered a visionary, cultural architect, and game-changer by his peers, his commitment to social justice and his passion for mental health knows no limits.

With a desire to deeply engage the issues of the community, in December of 2016 Pastor Mike opened the H.O.P.E. (Healing On Purpose and Evolving) Center; the first faith-based mental health facility in Harlem. The H.O.P.E. Center is a manifestation of Pastor Mike’s vision to effectively support the vast mental health needs of the community. The center seeks to minimize the stigma that exists in many communities of color when seeking mental health services.

Pastor Mike is a graduate of Morehouse College and Duke University School of Divinity (Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholar). He is the author of Searching for Agabus: Embracing Authenticity and Finding Your Way to You and is currently working on his second book.

A Sermon Talkback and book signing will happen following our worship and communion service.
