We are endeavoring to model and embrace rest. We will not only talk about sabbath; we will practice it COLLECTIVELY in a world that promotes incessant productivity at our expense. To that effect, we will have close the year out with a virtual only worship experience on Sunday, December 28th at 10am. You can view the service here on our YouTube page.
I want to thank all of our staff and volunteers for your hard work and dedication this year. We had some amazing Sundays and midweek experiences that required a lot from you. In February, we welcomed at Sacred Artist to host Creative Sabbatical. In March, we hosted the Alliance of Baptists 3-day Annual Gathering. In April, we had dynamic Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday service. In May, we hosting the Seasons of Love Ensemble of the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington. In June, we marched in the World Pride Parade. In July, we honored our scholarship recipients on Scholarship Sunday and celebrated our 168th Church Anniversary. In August, we serve over 200+ families at the Back to School Fest. In September, we launched our Youth Snack and Safety Zone. In October, we screened a documentary by a Disability Awareness activist. In November, had a fantastic Thanksgiving Potluck. And in December, we've ordained deacons and had a wonderful Christmas Concert. And that's just a fraction of the work and witness.
I invite you to spend the end of the year resting, reflecting, and renewing yourselves so that we can get ready for whatever 2026 brings us.
Thank you for making this year at Riverside DC beautiful. I wish you a safe and blessed transition from '25 to '26!
